Getting Estimates
Do it yourself or Pay a Pro?
Undoubtedly if you are thinking of pouring concrete at home you've thought the question. "Is this a job I should do myself or do I pay a contractor." Your decision will have to factor in not only the cement cost, but also your time, tool rental, and whether or not you have the expertise to do the job yourself. Even if you are doing it yourself the labor still costs more money than you think. Friends aren't freinds for long if you have them help pour a driveway then don't treat them to dinner and drinks.
Should you decide never to pick up a shovel or trowel, I would hope that you still find my website was useful. Even if only in helping you decide that hiring a cement contractor was the way to go. When I started this site I was just thinking of a simple web tool that will tell you how much the concrete will cost. Once you've used the tools to estimate the cost you need to actually make the decision. Once you've factored in all the costs, such as bobcat rental and labor you should compare your cost to what a pro would charge you to do it.
This last page of my site is dedicated to helping you find the right professional cement contractors in your area so you can get free estimates. I have included a "special" custom google search below. This search box is different from just going to google and searching because it has been programmed specifically to find websites about concrete estimates.
When you search using this tool you will get two kinds of results. The ones in the box at the top are called "Sponsored" results because your local concrete businesses pay google to be listed there. If you want to get quotes these are the best links to follow. If you would rather look at other sites like this one that are more for information scroll down to the organic results. I can think of at least one search that almost always brings up a good list of respectable local companies you can use to get an honest free quote. Try searching for "concrete estimating"
